I keep setting off theft alarms in stores

heh, I remember when I worked at best buy... those alarm stickies were always amusing to tag coworkers with. I did walk home w/ the display keys once... the alarm to the store never went off. It did when I came back in the next morning though.

Do what me and my friend did. She removed one article of clothing at a time and sent it through an offending sensor. Unfortunately it was her coat 🙁

Yeah, I would have them call the cops and then follow with a lawsuit. Store security may not detain or search you with the exception of places you sign a waiver for (e.g. customer agreement at Sam's Club says they have the right to inspect you at the door as a TOS agreement). However, if you bought something, put it in a sack or whatever, and trip an alarm; I would advise you to have them call the cops right then and there at the door while adamently refusing the search and watch the hilarity ensue.

Try your wallet. I guy I went to school with had the same problem, and he found hidden deep in one of thouse pockets that you just shove cards in, one of those strips. try just throwing your wallet through the thing. Then remove one article of clothing and toss it through the doors until you find it 😉

More likely it's an item of clothing you are wearing, and it only happens when you are wearing that particular item. There's nothing in a cell phone or car remote that could set off those alarms.

Its your vitamin supplements and/or diet. You're getting too much iron. Iron in your blood can set off the theft alarms.

You should start running out the doors from now on. That way you incite the staff to run you down and tackle you in the parking lot. Then they will look for stolen goods and you won't have any. You can threaten both the local store and corporate office of the store with a lawsuit for their mistreatment and assault. They will respond with offers of free stuff. Enjoy.

that's funny and reminds me of when I was in high school. Our library had the security tags in the books and the "Gate" that you had to walk in and out of the library through. We used to pull the RF tags out of the books and stick them in other peoples folders and stuff. I remember this kid we had them in like every folder he had , and even took apart a few of his pens and rolled them up and stuffed them down inside and put them back together. They'd walk out and the alarm would go off....and they'd spend a ton of time trying to find out where ALL of the tags were....

If you have a new wallet, check it for a security tag. That happen to me last time I replaced my wallet.
