I'm thinking it's my cell phone that's setting off the alarms but I can't be sure. It doesn't happen all the time so I don't keep track. The stores usually just say it's ok and let me go.

By the way my cell phone is a Motorola d815 with Verizon wireless. The car alarm remote is for the stock alarm on my lexus. Anybody else experiencing the same thing?

Sure it's not something you're wearing? I've got the same phone and I serioulsy doubt it's that.

yup, could be some piece of clothing you are wearing that didn't get the tag deactivated, although usually a cycle or two in the washer takes care of them

I had a sh!t job at toys R us being the stockboy. They made me put them on all of the clothing when I had nothing to do so I grabbed a few and took em out the back door.

It's from the chip that was placed during the anal probe when you were abducted by aliens. You don't remember? Or you just won't admit you liked it? :D

Somebody might have tagged you, I remember when i used to work at office max, we would put tags on eachother and stuff, see who set off the alarms.

Nope seems kind of random. I don't think about it too much but if it goes off I just stop and see if anyone calls me back. If not I just go on my way.

I know it's not my clothes because they're clothes I've had for awhile.

I used to set off most retail store alarms, even when I had no cell phone or keys or anything on me. For example, I could just be wearing board shorts, sandals, and an undershirt, and it would still go off. It seems to have gone away over the past 2 years though.

I had the same problem until one day I cleaned out my wallet and in one of the compartments there was one of the square magnetic alarm things that would set alarms off wherever I went. I would check your wallet specially if you just got a new one.

a friend of mine had this problem. Turned out to be a sensor tag in his shoe that was deactivated in the store but for some reason always made the alarms at best buy and future shop go off.

My ex-bf used to set it off everytime we would walk through. It would be funny because he would have NO metal on him at all (wearing a plain shirt and soccer shorts) and he would still set it off. I was convinced that he had some sort of chip implanted into his brain, he was always just a little too smart.

Newer clothes come with a sensor sewn into the item. It is usually a white square about 1.5"x1.5" and needs to be cut off of the item.

I had a pair of jeans that had one in them for about a year. It would always set off the alarm at Best Buy. I washed them numerous times and it never got rid of the problem.

I always thought it was my cell phone too but turns out it was just a new pair of jeans.

Check all your clothes.

I set one off in Roses (a now defunct chain store like K-Mart/Wal-Mart) when I was ten. They called my mom over the speaker to be in the room when they made take off my shirt and patted me down. It was my braces that set the damn thing off. They fixed it later, but I was NOT happy about being treated like a criminal and given a low level version of a strip search.
