I keep bread in the fridge. Deal with it.

Tastes better and it's firmer that way.

I don't get weird room temperature floppy dick shit-tasting bread by keeping it out on the counter.

And I don't know if I've ever had bread go stale or bad on me. It's always wrapped in the fridge and the bread is usually eaten within a week or two of purchase. (Although I've bought multiple loafs at the store and they've been fine for up over a couple weeks. I don't know of a time bread was "bad")

We buy stuff from the "day old" bread store and then we freeze it. Bread for 1/3 the usual price FTW!

It goes moldy after about 5-6 days. At 49p a loaf though idc, theres no room in the fridge anyway.

Since it usually goes bad on me after a week I split a loaf in half and half in the fridge and leave the other half out. Seems to go a lot longer for me that way..

Bread in the fridge is ok, peanut butter OTOH rips delicate bread up like a virgin on prom night. Cold peanut butter turns to knives and becomes unspreadable.

I grew up with bread in the fridge but now I keep it in the pantry unless it is hot and humid out and we are not using air conditioning since it will mold very fast.

It tastes better when it is not in the fridge which is drying out the bread but that is really for sandwiches. If you use a toaster you will never notice a difference between fridge and pantry bread.

But i would never freeze bread that will really give you dry bread. But my in laws do it because they do not eat it fast enough. I would rather throw away uneaten bread than use a freezer on it.

Whoa,.. whoa,... WHOA.

OP, I am not sure you understand what you've done here! Someone on the internet may not agree with how you handle something like this.

Are you sure you want to go down this path??

I would only keep it in the fridge if I was having a problem with my bread molding before I could finish the loaf. The last few years, I've kept it in a pantry and had no mold problems. Room temperature bread > cold bread.

We store English muffins in the freezer and thaw as needed. Bread we usually keep in the microwave just to keep it off the counter. My wife makes a sandwich for our son for school every morning so it doesn't stay around long enough to get moldy.

I put mine in the fridge also, keeps it fresher longer, however it doesn't taste as fresh as if you leave it out.
