seriously, i know bryan chattoo in real life. he played the role of brody. he was a student at RIT where I am at right now. 😀

i didn't cry, but i definitly was stunned by the movie. very strong movie, and very good. the 'art' direction was one thing, but the story itself was still excellent in of itself.

Eh, it was alright I guess. I personally think its overrated and the main reason why so many people praise it is the fact that its not the typical hollywood movie. That and Jennifer Connelly.

i only liked the ending, the person who suggested it to me was shocked that i didnt care for the rest but i really didnt think it was that great. a bit annoying, really.

i think the same guy directed pi, which also wasnt that great.

I thought it was waaay different of a movie when I first saw it and felt somewhat disturbed by it also though that was many years ago now.

That rich millionaire pervert guy in the suit, that guy gives me nightmares at night. 🙁

There is no evil greater than he.

I can't say it got much emotion out of me or left me thinking about it for days afterward... I thought it was a quality movie, but a bit overrated.

Oh, now that you've seen it - Text 😀

1st time i watched requiem for a dream was when i was 16, very soon after my dad died, at around 3 am, sitting about 2 feet back from the black and white television in the dark while it rained outside.

Creeped that crap out of me. Only movie i've ever had to turn the lights on for.

Thing about that movie is that it brings you down, but unlike other movies, it just leaves you there. No happy ending to this one.

But i will say the soundtrack to that movie (the winter/summer overture) is awesome.

you want disturbing, go check out Todd Solondz's movies. start with "happiness"

agreed. happiness is one of the most quietly disturbing films i've ever seen. his movies are difficult to watch.

Hrm, that might be what it is about the movie that makes me feel so ambivalent toward it... the story itself brings me down, but the fact it doesn't have another stupid, cheesy happy ending with all the pieces falling in place (the way every single other novel and film out there does) is refreshing and uplifting. Perhaps the two effects negate each other and I'm left feeling indifferent.
