So this, along with the other half-dozen printers in this place are the bane of my existence. I am certain they will kill me some day if I don't get away from them.
However.....
At this moment, I have a config page printed showing me that the printer's IP is 193.168.3.107 (we use "3" on our network here at work). I go there & there's nothing. SSI/index.htm
I'm also on the printer via USB & my laptop. There's an HP menu that says "change or find IP" and when I click on it fetches a browser window & goes to a ridiculously unrelated HP webpage.
Why oh why can't I just find a menu & change the IP on this thing??
TIA for any help......
EDIT: I think I found out why. Firmware is gone! Instead of details on the config page, it shows "NO STRINGS IN ROM" and while it'll still pick an IP and probably still do basic print functions, menu abilities appear gone.
NOW......I'd like to try & feed it a firmware update. However, HP doesn't show ANY firmware.
WTF is it so hard to do the simplest things???
