Really now? Have you actually lived in the south? Do you have first hand experience with people in the south? I lived in Virginia (true not the deep south, but the south nonetheless) for 16 years and many of the people that I interacted with were kind and courteous. Oh and I should mention that a good deal of them were on the conservative side of the aisle. I've also traveled to Florida, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, and Missouri. I met some liberals as well and they were typically courteous too but when it comes to discourteous and rude people I've seen them from both sides of the aisle and from many locations within the US. Frankly some of the most discourteous people I've encountered seem to come from the west coast and upper east coast. Just my experience but while we're all chipping in our two cents I figured I'd throw mine in.

i live in Texas. All the softspoken people, i guess i'm kind of biased though, most people i associate with are IT/techy type people....who almost always identify as liberal... my town however is full of drinkin, fightin, jaysus lovers, who identify as hard conservative, turbo-dually drivin' R's, who vote that way because their daddy did. picture Hank Hill.

it's true though lol.. you dont find liberal/democrat people acting that nasty, commenting like they are some sort of keyboard warrior, hiding behind their monitor.

this little thread right here is about the extent of "nastiness," you'll get from a liberal.

One immediately comes to mind: Phokus

I find it hard to believe that there are really that many horrible people around. I think that a ton of these people that you find on literally every forum including P&N here are paid to post that nasty shit. The sad thing is that it works.

I'm hopeful the OP is being honest and not trolling.

OP, several members have asked for the link to your comment and their commie reply. Please provide.

Is this the inquisition here? I was called a dork in Jr High, need a reference?

Bullshit. I see just as much trash from the leftists. Granted it's more passive/aggressive nonsense(I'll leave it to the reader to interpret why), but I've run into some mouth breathing militants also. Partisanship is religion for those "too cool" for religion...

Yep. Exactly this.

i thought it was common knowledge that conservatives are "nastier" that liberals???
i mean, conservatives have essentially campaigned against charity and tolerance.

The real problem isn't the arrogance itself, it's that conservatives mix a lot of ignorance with their arrogance. There aren't too many things more annoying than a person that is demonstrably wrong but still thinks you're the idiot.

I just visited the Fox News forum

OMG... I just visited the Fox News forum and it's like going to a KKK rally. They don't have sub forums like ATOT. You just click on the headline and head to the comment section at the bottom of the page.

Just a bunch of nasty people.

I thought this was off topic not P&N?

Anyway Fox is not a "News", it is an "Entertainment" organization as defined by the U.S. Supreme Court and under Free Speech they can lie on air and their website 110%.

conservatives are like cartoonish villainy, where what they do is so over the top you're not even sure what you're seeing/hearing is actually happening

liberals are much more sneaky with their villainy, where they can sweet talk you but then stab you in the fucking back before you know who was behind it

Both are terrible, and why the hell is this discussion even happening outside of P&N?

guns, and drinkin,' and jesus, and hatin "Obummer."

that's what life is like in the south, it's gross.

That pretty much describes rural America. I'm a democrat living in a very red part of Illinois.
The tv in the break room is locked on fox news. People glom onto it watching. Hell, one saturday I came in to do some switch maintenance and someone was avidly listening to alex jones.
Seriously, alex jones... wtf...
