I just tried Sriracha for the first time

Its tasty, not hot. And yes, while I like it, it is way overatted. Its the latest hipster douchbag "spicy" sauce. I make my own and believe me, one drop will burn you.

I like it. It's pretty good on most any savory food item. I'm not about to call it the best chili sauce evar though.

This.

I actually got some Green Sriracha in a gift basket recently and it was levels over the original red. I believe it was made in CA? Delicious.

Thread saved. This is always the correct answer to foodstuff related threads on ATOT.

ITT posters come extolling the virtues of their home-made hot sauces. Atleast it ain't micro beers this time.

so much this.

I like it in certain things, but that's mostly lack of choice: every restaurant near work here is some version of Asian/noodles/rice/asian/something something and all they have is sriracha. You get used to it, because it even infects other non-asian restaurants (the greek/mediterranian/hipster burger joint has it).

It has its own unique flavor, which I appreciate, but it isn't terribly special and shouldn't be put on most foods. I much prefer a simple habanero-based sauce (for the flavor more than the heat). That's actually one of my favorite flavors, tbh.

+1

Thankfully, I don't think is as invasive in the local restaurants here.

Meh...the OP must have a tiny, sandy vagina.

Huy Fong Sriracha isn't at all "HOT," but rather an overly sweet, sauce that's mildly spicy.

I LIKE the stuff for some things...but it's way too sweet for most foods.

I <3 hot sauce, but can't fucking stand that shit, it's not spicy and imho it has a crappy flavor.

That's really good, but I have a hard time finding a place for it. It's way smoky, and goes best with meat, but I don't eat a lot of meat. I get the green all the time, and the natural extra hot when I can find it.
