I just spent an hour outside in the cold trying to rescue a kitten.

How do I make a damned kitten get into a damned box so I can take her to the damned shelter?

Idiot. God was trying to kill that kitten because of..... something I may or may not have just done. Don't oppose God's will!

I hate cats, but it's pretty hard to hate a kitten. Call a rescue shelter. I imagine they will have more practice at this.

I rescued a rabbit once. Saw it in the middle of traffic about to get hit. It was a beautiful animal, obviously domesticated and very friendly, loving. It had clean little paws and couldn't have run far from home.

I spent two hours walking the neighborhood trying to find it's home. Posted found rabbit fliers with my daughter the next day. Called the local no-kill shelter, which doesn't take rabbits, and posted a found rabbit on their website.

I kept that little critter for a month, trying to teach it to not shit all over my house, hoping someone would claim it. I finally found it a good home, from which it ran away shortly thereafter.

I think it just wanted to be free.

I grab a fishing net out of the boat. Usually, we catch them when they're on our porch. I hide at one end, and my wife will go toward the kittens. They run like hell across the porch & jump through the railing at the end, only to find out I'm pretty quick with the net. Amusing to watch them fight to get out, since their paws go right through the net, but their bodies don't fit through. Also, little kittens that don't want to be caught tend to bite.

I don't know how to trap a cat, but if you set a trap with a pussy in it I would get caught.

That's the cutest documentary ever.

You know the box propped on a stick that has a string tied to it really works. I used that and a bowl of condensed milk to catch a whole litter of kittens once.
