I love a good beer, but I don't understand people that treat beer like fine wine (and thusly spend like it)

I can't drink the Dogfish 60 or 90 minute IPA, way too hoppy. I'm not much of a hophead though.

Maximus is good, Maharaja is great. In San Diego we're fairly spoiled with great IPAs - Stone 10th Anniversary IPA, Green Flash Imperial IPA, Left Coast Hop Juice, Port Hop 15, SDBC (Brewing Company, not Bike Club) Hopnotic, Alpine Exponential Hoppiness... There's also Moylan's Hopsickle Imperial IPA from up north, always a great buy when available.

I recently had a bottle of HeBrew Lenny's R.I.P.A., a great rye double IPA.

If you like something then why not try to get something good? Just like cheap wine tastes bad, so does cheap beer. I honestly can't stand the taste of wine but I like the taste of certain beers.

See, I saw Dogfish Head's 90 Minute IPA today (I just flew into Chicago today), but I went with the Raison D'Etre...it was $9.99 for a six pack. That, along with 2 bottles of wine and a liter of vodka...should be a good show.

Anyone care to visit the Omni and have a drink? :D

I like Alexander Keith's but apparently it has a slightly different taste than most IPAs. and you can't buy it in the states.

Wow I guess I am spoiled with being able to buy cheap dogfish head since I leave in Delaware. I am pretty sure six pack of Raison is only 7 bucks or so. Also if you guys have never tried I highly recomment the Dogfish Midas Touch beer. Its supposed be a recipe recovered off of some viking ship that was sunk in the ocean hundreds of years ago. Its very good and about 9% alcohol if I recall correctly, should be about $10 for a 4 pack. Link

edit: Last time I was in Penn State main campus I bought a pitcher of Dogfish 90min IPA for $10. I was amazed how cheap they were able to sell it for.
