He's 22yo and it sounds like this is a blessing that you cannot say no to. btw I never finished my degree we sound very similar. I'm 32 and it ain't easy get your degree ASAP! Make your benefactor proud but do it for YOURSELF!

Good choice! It's really no more complicated than taking an "anonymous" scholarship. Kudos to you...and him.

take it as a loan. take it, pay with it, and STUDY HARD! and get a good GPA (3.5 and above) to satisfy him, and remember the gift he gave you. when you can, pay him back.

I wish my father had the maturity to say the same thing. He got approved for a loan to pay for I think one semester of my undergrad, all the rest (including part of that one semester) I have accrued loans for pushing well into the $20K region and I would never hear anything remotely that sincere. And the lovely thing is he likes to take credit for paying for my college in front of other people; my GF about told him what was what one day in front of my Aunt & Uncle because he said ****** like that. :|
