I played that game for a few days and never could get into it, I don't see what all the hype is about.

Yep, no one is doing anything else but pvp.

It sucks

because there isn't anything else to do - at least nothing you haven't done 10000 times over already.

pvp is the only fun thing in any mmorpg. and wow's isn't all that great.

i don't see why everyone plays it. the pve is just as boring as every other game.

The PVP setup in WoW sucks. If I want to go slaughter some Alliance I should be able to travel to a different zone and have at it. Not wait in some retarded line for 30+ minutes.

The best PVP in a MMO game that I have played was Dark Age of Camelot. Get a sweet group together and start trolling out in the frontier. Ahhh...good times.

hopefully warhammer can break warcraft's stranglehold. but eamythic will probably break whatever it is by introducing timesink after timesink in an effort to keep people buying expansions.

and you know how EA loves expansions
or maybe they'll do it like their sports franchises, Warhammer 2007, warhammer 2008, warhammer 2009, and then have 75 little expansions between each version

What does EA have to do with anything? I thought Warhammer was Mythic's baby. Or is Mythic and EA one in the same?

Shadowbane had some badass PVP. Absolutely badass. And the origional UO system was awesome too. Had to be weary anywhere you went.

Looking forward to warhammer myself.

I love WoW PvP, half the fun is the structure and rewards. If you don't like queues, roll horde. Instant queues are nice :)

daoc's pve sucked ass (now it's decent, but pve is boring as hell regardless of the game), but the pvp was top notch.

"Carebear" servers are great. Don't have to deal with all the little kids trying to be grownup and tough by playing on a PvP server and calling people names (like carebear) ;) Don't have to deal with people who can think of nothing more fun than to corpse camp you for 10 hours. Much less "2 y ur b wut ne1; 4 c plz pst???//?" type stuff to have to translate. Especially as a horde, where PvP is just a click away - have I mentioned how much instant queues rock? If you want world PvP, just type /pvp and go out mining, farming, etc. People on PvE servers are probably more likely to attack you since it's rare to see someone flagged, whereas it's run of the mill for PvP servers.

I think WoW is the best mmorpg to date.

The only thing I don't like is that there's very little penalty for death in the world at large (i.e. non-BG, non-instance). One of the few things EQ had over WoW is that when I'd travel from place to place as a noob, I was terrified. Dying meant xp loss and corpse recovery. WoW just doesn't have anything like that.

As for PvE vs. PvP, I could never play on a bluebie server. I tried and was insanely bored. The first time I saw a Dwarf running around in Brill I freaked out, then realized he wasn't flagged. Boring.

Dunno what servers you tried but WoW PVP servers are not like that at all...
mostly adults play on the last 2 servers I played on Gorefiend and now sageareas people have much better things to do than corpse camp.. they hit you and move on... or they get wiped out by Alliance 60s that will come to discourage campers... Ive never had anyone camp me for more than 1 res and if they do that ive got my guild backup there in minutes anyway...

noone talks in l33t speak... I dunno what game youre playing this isnt counterstrike...

Best PvP idea was Shadowbane. Too bad the engine sucked.

If only WoW would turn into Shadowbane. Drool. ;)

i play on Eredar and the alliance like to corpse camp, especially when its 5 level 38+ alliance against a single lvl 28 horde that just wants to do his quests. fvcking douchebags.

i don't see any of the leet speak at all. i've played on other servers and never saw the leet speak unless someone was making fun of it.

Best PVP has to be EVE Online. Been playing for over 2 years and I only really log on to PVP. Best part is I don't have to play 5 hours a day to keep getting better. I've played probably 20 hours in the last 3 months and i've gained several million skill points while doing it.

Side note to anyone who hasn't played eve in a while. The first Titan was destroyed this week, it belonged to a sister alliance of mine, kind of sad. It was the first Titan built and only 1 of 3 in the game. For people who don't know, this ship was valued in real money at between $8-11k and took an alliance of 5000 people 3-6 months to build. The worst part is that the pilot's client had crashed and he wasn't even in the ship when it was destroyed.
