i just ran over a squirrel

The squirrel babies around here are like target practice. They are everywhere and are too stupid to move out of the way yet.
 
That sucks. Squirrels are probably my favorite common critter. one of the worst road kills I've seen ws a mama possum that got hit in the road. Her babies had been stuck to her, and they were scattered across the pavement :^(

I saw a blue jay once that kept flying out in the middle of the road. When I got closer, I saw that it's mate(I assume) had gotten hit by a car, and every break in traffic, the live one would fly out to it.
 
I ran over one with my pedal bike once, then I stopped and felt bad, then realized it was already dead so I did not feel as bad but kept asking myself if I would of missed it had it been alive and running. Was a nasty sight to see. It's like staring at death itself. It IS death. Oh those shiny, bloody eyes and the head turned towards me, staring, with hate. A face that seems to reflect the very depts of hell, then... oh shit a transport! *duck*
