I just proved we are nothing more than digital simulations!

I wrote this in another thread but I think this is so important that I am starting a new thread.

--------------------------------
I thought this was the case a long time ago. Think about it. We naturally think the world is continuous. But Quantum Physics suggests the world is kind of discrete.

Now, let's imagine a universe that *is* continuous. A universe with continuous time and space. Now let's imagine beings in this universe attempt to create a simulation of their world with computers.

Computers are digital. So the universe it simulates is imperfect. However, since it is a simulation of their continuous world, the beings in the digital world also naturally thinks their digital world is continuous. As the simulated digital beings explore their fake digital world they note discrepancies. They invent quantum physics to explain these discrepancies.

In other words, we are nothing more than digital simulations! That's why many of us believe in a God! That's why we inherently think the world should be continuous -- because our God lives in a continuous universe! But we noticed weird things when we try to examine our micoscopic world. As we examine our world in smaller and smaller detail, all of a sudden our "continuous" world breaks down. A computer cannot simulate a continuous universe correctly as you go further and further smaller. Floating point representation cannot represent a continuous line of points. And so, we invented something called Quantum Physics to explain these discrenpancies!

Case close.

As with all new scientific break throughs and whatever new science evolves to explain nature, you will indefinitely be able to find something that exceeds or cannot be explained with this new science.

Yes, I remember reading about them. I think they used them to solve differential equations or something. Sort of like using an RC circuit to solve a differential equation that models an RC circuit.

I think you are a digital simulation sent by the Creators to try to discredit me so others won't learn the truth!!!!

That's just a blind postulate though, there is no evidence to support your theory. It could just as (actually much more) easily be that the universe is simpliy quantized and that is all. Why must there be a 'continuous' universe outside the quantized one? Your assumption that there must be a 'continuous' one is pure speculation.

People's belief in God also has nothing to do with this, as God could just as easily created to give people comfort.

God's existance does not prove us to be digital, and quantum physics does not prove the existance of god.
