I just paid off my car.

That translates to one extra hooker and almost an ounce of blow per month. Excellent.

vvvvvvv Don't be ridiculous. vvvvvvvvvv

Grats. If you take that money and start putting it into savings you might be able to buy your next car with cash!

Now start paying yourself. Save every single bit of that payment.

Have some other debt to pay off first.

Stupid, expensive kids 😛

Now the REAL raise will be when kid #2 is out of daycare, then another huge raise after kindergarten (have to pay to get full-day here; only half-day is free). I can't remember how much kindergarten is, but daycare's still $820/month for me.

One... more... year....

Dang. Should have had smart, cheap kids. Kid, kid, kidding.

Private school is next. No $$ for you. I'm getting a bargain at $5K/year.

Congrats,

but for $820/yr and also all the other expenses, my wife would just stay home for about the same amount of money as she only works part time anyway.

congrats! now take a piece of that payment and bank it for the next car's down payment or total payment. get out from the having to take a loan to buy a car business and you'll always be ahead!

did you forget about kid #3?😕😎

I'm a cheap bastard. Give me the $900 combo.

This. While the expensive ones are nice (my parents have a pair) I can't justify it.

Congrats to OP, I paid of mine and my wifes last year and year before. Drive it until the wheels fall off, then duct tape them back on and keep driving. No car payments!

My wife was standing outside the local sears store at midnight on black friday to get a frontloader washer and dryer on sale for 1/2 off.

Instead of $900, we got the set for around $450.

They only had like 4 pairs in stock, and my wife was the first person in line.

Once the kids are just a little older, they'll start remembering the vacations that they've been on. Now that you don't have a car payment, time to save up (to pay cash) for a used camper or something. 🙂 Even quick weekend getaways are a lot of fun with the young kids.
