I just paid 14 dollars for a lifetime watch battery

Well, you're assuming that store will still be around next time you need to change it.

Or is the battery suppose to last forever? If so.....[Nelson]HA HA![/Nelson]

Last time I got my battery changed it cost me $12. It dies like every 2 years, so $14 for a lifetime sounds pretty damn good to me.

The thing is, you may end up with a new watch. You got screwed, unless you have one of those expensive ones that some of the ATOTer's use ($1000+)

Yeah i thought getting a watch serviced is an expensive thing. Especially since alot of department store watch people dont work 7 days a week and they have really inconvenient hours.

No, I paid $140 for a Citizen Echodrive watch, though.

Heh. My gf was so thrilled to find out that she'll never need to change the battery when I gave her that watch (it was part of the reason I got her that one).

Depends a lot on the circumstances. Most watches I buy for some reason have huge problems being opened or have a battery that no cheap store in town has. Thus I have to take it to one of the expensive specialty stores - $4 a pop. So if I could use a watch for 8+ years to need 4 battery changes, it would barely pay off. But for me, most watches have problems/go out of style/the metal is corroded before 8 years would pass. Thus I'd never get my money back.

yep, thats the situation im in. have to get my battery replaced every couple of years, and i think it costs like $10 a trip. cant take it to a sears in the mall or anything either, because they dont have the tools to open up my watch. btw, its a swiss army officer model watch.

That's the watch I'd buy next if I start wearing a watch again.
I started using my cell phone for time keeping, and I lost the use of having a watch, so Ive stopped wearing my swiss military.....

but Citizen watch for sure if I ever need a new one
