Since Dell was having the sale on the 2001FPs (799.98) I went ahead and ordered two. I opted for the 2 day shipping so I'm really hoping they'll be here by the weekend. But getting to my question what kind of testing can I do to make sure I don't have any dead pixels on the lcd? Does the 2001FP ship with DVI cables? Do I have to worry about burn in?

Most dead pixels I have seen show up on a black background. Put up a black bitmap on the screen and they usually stick right out.

The best tool to look for dead pixels tells you how to do it all etc. FYI some dead pixels don't respond to diffrent colors my dad's samsung has 2 that don't respond to Green. (FYI 99% of the time dead pixels respond or don't to RGB or Black colors).

I'm running a system with 4 FP's and I have 1 bad pixel in one monitor, and to tell you the truth I only notice it if I have a black background, for everyday computing and running aps, unless you kow where it is you can't even notice it.
