Will both companies have me sign something when they drop the stuff off, or will they just leave it there?

Update: Package number one, the most valueable one just arrived, the 7900GT, the wireless adapter, RAM and a CD drive.

Depends on the delivery man/woman and the company that it was shipped with.

When receiving a Newegg pkg. UPS and FedEx make me sign every time. YMMV

Newegg was UPS, ZZF was Fedex.

Some of our friendly deliverymen and women save time by forging the signature and leaving the package on the doorstep. Others follow company policy.

It's such an inconvience signing a package because who is home on a weekday in the middle of the day, most people have jobs. I hope they can still come after 5 though.

Yup, I had to sign once for a $50 router but not a $300 VX2025 monitor. :p

Your Mileage Might Vary (YMMV). It depends on which delivery person I get.

You're going to want to call both places to verify. I know that when I bought over $1500 worth of stuff from Newegg my order had been put on hold due to Newegg flagging it for fraud. I called in to find out what was taking so long and they told me that it was on hold due to the high dollar amount and that they wanted to verify it with me and my CC company. They did real quick and all was well.

Have them hold your packages at the respective shipping centers, then go pick them up.

Better than chancing having them left at your door and not finding them there when you come home.

I usually leave UPS/Fedex a note on my door when I want them to drop off packages. Every time I didn't write a note it was a 50/50 chance they would leave it or not. That's always worked for me unless the sender paid UPS/Fedex to verify you got it by showing them your ID. But I'm sure that cost extra for the sender so I've never had that happen to me from buying stuff online.

Greetings Everyone!

Our contract with UPS and Fedex requires all packages to be signed upon delivery. It's sometimes up to the driver if he/she is willing to deliver a package without proof of signature.

I don't believe you ordered 1200 bucks of hardware. Show us the tracking numbers to prove it! LOL

I usually leave a signed note on the door. The driver usually takes the note with them as proof of delivery (my signature).
But my UPS driver is usually the same guy and he's knows me. So he usually just leaves it somewhere and leaves a note.

But now I get delievered everything to work. Not only does it get here earlier (business gets delivery before residence) but someone is always here to sign for it.
