Firefox scrolling seems to have gone very fidgetty, and it seemed it required lot of work just to scroll a page from A to B, but once I got started it was ok, almost like trying to pull on something heavy. Was getting ridiculous. It's too bad, but firefox is just becoming more and more bloated and slow and after each update it gets worse.

Decided enough is enough and to try Chrome as my main browser, imported my favorites and think I will stick to this and see how it goes. I will miss noscript though, I hate sites that abuse javascript to make my experience an annoyance.
 
Firefox jumped the shark a while ago IMO, I'm waiting on the next Chrome release before I crown my official #1.
 
I do like speed and snappiness of Chrome, but can't do without some basic Firefox addons like Adblock, mouse gestures, etc.

Has Chrome made improvements regarding extensions/addons? Last time I checked,(which was a while ago) extensions were hard to find and/or install.
 
Actually one thing that kinda weirded me out is the way Chrome installs. You click the link and it immediately launches the installer. I could see type of scripting being a security vulnerability if in the wrong hands. I heard it's called OneClick but how does it work? Can't seem to find any info online. Just curious, more then anything.

Nope they are plentiful and easy to install. but i still prefer FF. I like my fast dial way better then chrome picking what to put on my new tab.
 
chrome works ok with a few tabs.
any more and it turns to sh*t real fast.
firefox works fine on a non botched install.
 
I tried it recently and it's not bad but I will stay with SeaMonkey. Among other features I like the built-in email of SeaMonkey.
 
I tried to use Chrome but it was slower than Firefox for some reason. It was like this even on a clean install without changing any settings in Chrome. I spent a little over an hour messing with it trying to get it to run optimally but I couldn't do it. I'm guessing it doesn't like something about my hardware configuration.

No, you can choose to opt out of that on install. There is a checkbox that says something like 'participate in google....."



Found it under the options too, look on the under the hood section under privacy.

I finally switched as well. Been using FF for a long long time, but Chrome has won me over. Especially now that a non dev version has been released that supports extensions and bookmark syncing without any tweaking.

Chrome + Extensions + AdMuncher FTW!
 
I like the way FF gives you complete control over the configuration. I move my profiles and cache files off my C: drive. My understanding is that Chrome can't do this. I don't even want to bother with an install/uninstall cycle until I hear different. Its a deal breaker for me. Its the same reason I don't use Picasa. The software forces you to keep the database on the C: drive with no option to change it (yes there is a kludgy work around, but I am not interested in that).
