I knew there was a reason why I never heard of the word plummenting before..it's not a word...well...not according to dictionary.com anyways

It would appear that webster.com disagrees.

1 : to fall perpendicularly <birds plummeted down>
2 : to drop sharply and abruptly <prices plummeted>

Although, using it as plummet[ing] may not have been correct. Note, I did misspell it. That might've been why you couldn't find it.
