The best investment you can make in your life, right now, is to join a gym and get a personal trainer. Make an appointment with a doctor as well just to see if he/she has any advise for you.

Just put 1 foot in front of the other and make those 2 things happen ASAP.

The easiest thing to cut is sugary drinks. They add tons of calories without making you feel full. Otherwise, it's all portion control, and moving your ass.

oh man i live on mt dew, 4-5 cans gets me through the day

maybe ill cut back to 2 and see if i ca n still stay awake...

Screw the foods you like and the quantities if you are being honest. You NEED to lose the weight now or doom yourself to an entire adult life of being obese with an end result of dying relatively young. Have you ever noticed you don't see many really obese people in their late 60's? There is a reason and it is not that all the obese people got religion and lost some weight in their later years.

What you need is a lifestyle change to make the transformation without relapsing so I would suggest you seek out some kind of professional help.

Switch to diet. Start adding a 30-45 minute walk into your day. Drink more water while you eat to help fill you up.

Plus, eat less crappy food.

If it's for the caffeine, switch to black coffee. Unsweetened iced tea can take some getting used to, but if you mix black/green tea, with herbal flavored tea, you get an interesting flavor, a mild boost, and no carbs.

I used to drink 80oz+ of soda PER DAY. I did a lot of physical work though, and burned it off. I started making unsweetened tea for my daughter after she got diabetes, and drank it myself. Coming from sugar bombs, it tastes bland at first, but once you've trained your tastebuds, there's a lot of subtle flavors going on that you grow to appreciate. I can't drink soda the way I used to anymore. It's way too much sugar. A 12oz can every once in awhile tastes good, but that's my limit. I really prefer the 8oz, or 10oz bottles. That gives the taste without going overboard on sugar.

You can also try seltzer water; orange is my favorite. That gives you the throat burn of soda, without the carbs. Of course, no caffeine boost though.

Go to diet soda but really consider getting off the caffeinated soda. After a while your body get used to it and you need it just to function like a normal person. I've found being active during the day so I get a good night's sleep helps me be much more alert than I am while drinking caffeine.

Just an FYI to the OP, while stevia doesn't taste exactly like sugar it's actually not too bad. No nasty aftertastes like most zero calorie sweetners. If you want to switch to tea you can still sweeten it with stuff that won't pack on the pounds.

OP you just have to cut back, I understand the importance of a good diet, last month I decided to get into shape. I still eat crap food just a lot less, I was at 240 now I'm at 226, I'm doing the Couch 2 5k & 100 push up challenge. My calorie intake is about 1/2 of what it is, but I still eat hot dogs and chicken strips and stuff. I can't say this will work for you, but I can say when you're use to eating lots of junk and drinking tons of soda, if you make too drastic of a change you probably won't stick with it. I drink soda, just diet kind. I find the Diet Sierra Mist is actually pretty good. If you want Cafiene I find the Crystal Light Lemon Tea is pretty damn good. The Diet Brisk isn't bad either, but it's a little weak tasting to me.

I know the work out people on here will frown on how I'm doing it, but I've dropped 4lb a week for 3 weeks now. And that was my main goal, perhaps when I adjust to eating less I can start adding in some veggies and stuff (I don't like any of that)

Easiest way to go is simply eat fucking less

Eat better and exercise are secondary but still important in the long run.

Jesus Christ. How tall are you?

Just don't sit down in some chair and not get up.

He could be 9ft and he'd still be overweight. No human being is healthy at over 300 pounds.

I personally suggest watching your intake for each day and just cut off at some hard number until you can get some sort of regular diet figured out. Figure out what you need to reduce by to lose weight and stick to it. If you indulge one day make sure it comes out of the next day. Don't start playing the well I'll just cheat today and forget about it game that'll keep going till you die. That's pretty much how I went from 215 to 130.

YOU people, have not given Private Pyle the proper motivation! So, from now on, whenever Private Pyle fucks up, I will not punish him! I will punish all of YOU! And the way I see it ladies, you owe me for ONE JELLY DOUGHNUT! NOW, GET DOWN ON YOUR FACES!

One of the easiest things you can do is switch to sugar-free drinks. At 5 cans a day you're looking at something like 600 calories each day from that alone - that's about one pound every week just from that one change.

He's 45 stone, he lost 28 stone, dummy.

FFS stone? I thought pounds were a stupid unit of measure, but fuck, stone?

Whoops. Deleted.

Jesus I cannot comprehend why Americans don't like stone, it is the measurement above pounds, it's like saying oh I'm x Inches tall rather than using feet.

Yet you knew that Americans don't use stones as a unit of measurement. But, there's no reason anyone would need to do a conversion and post about "gee, I can't figure out how tall 62 inches is. Hmmm, I can only think in feet and inches, not just inches, so that's 5 feet 2 inches." That is, unless they had a habit of derailing threads into USA vs England customs. Thus, I can only assume you are trolling or intentionally derailing this thread. -Admin DrPizza
