I just made naan

That stuff is soo easy to make it's almost foolproof. I didn't measure anything. 😀

Guestimating, I probably used 1 cup of flour.

I put some hot water in a cup with a few teaspoons of sugar and a teaspoon or so of yeast and some kosher salt. I let it foam up and mixed it in with the flour and some milk until the dough was stick and there was no flour left. I let it sit for 20 minutes, floured my hands and patted out some dry, hand-sized pieces...

1 at a time (since it's just me eating), I put them on a cooling rack and cooked the naan over my gas stove on high....flipping it after each side was browned to perfection. I used the butter I made the other day for my butter basted burger recipe.

It gave the naan a nice garlic flavor with a hint of red chili flake.

Good stuff. I've had 2 pieces...I'm tempted to carb up and make a third.

Garlic Naan?
Light garlic... The browned parts of the bread and the salt from the butter are definitely more dominant. Try it....believe it or not, it's really good.

I've been meaning to make Chapatti for awhile. It seems even more absurd to buy it than simple leavened bread like Naan. Such ethnic schtuff is overpriced at typical big chain stores and certainly not as good. There are independent stores around with indubitably authentic product but still, nothing beats fresh and the sassifaction of making it one's own self.

I reckon I'll give your method a go.

Check out the recipes/instructions at indianfoodforever, showmethecurry, and videojug.

Here is the one I've had in mind.

I made some Chicken Vindaloo today after seeing an episode of "Diary of a Foodie" on South Indian cuisine. Pretty easy to make, and tasted delicious. Some Naan to go with it would have been awesome. You, sir, have inspired me 🙂
