Copper Heads are very poisonous. Be Careful. There are more poisonous snakes, but I would be careful handling anything like that without some kind of pole or something. I have never heard of one going indoors, because they tend to like hot rocks or tend to sit in the middle of a trail where the sun shines. This time of year they are probably trying to get warm. Might be he lives in your house somewhere. Hope he does not have any buddies. They like forrested regions. Last one I saw was at a Pierre Marquette State Park, In Illinois Near the bluffs along the Mississippi.

I found some Brown Recluse spider wound pictures. It just rots the skin away after a few days. Very scary. I'm so glad I live in southern California.

Wait, you were handling a copperhead? Picking him up and throwing him around?

Even with 12" pliers, he could bite you easily, in the blink of an eye.

No, my father in law grabbed him by the head with the pliers. He then tossed him into a bucket and I slammed the lid down on it

You grabbed a snake by the head with 12" pliers? You realize how crazy that is? He can easily strike 12 inches. Easily.

It was that or let him have free reighn of the house. There is no animal contro service that I know of around here. Not to mention that 90% of our stuff is still in boxes. I realize it was foolhardy now, but at the time I just wanted to get it while we could see it before it go away in the house.
the fire department will handle snakes for you

Did you skin it and eat it? Sneaks are good eatin' if you know how to take out the venom sag, or else you'll eat the venom and die.

that Spider link REALLY creeped me out. The Snake story is bad, but without pics it's not as effective as the spider link.

Huntsman spiders are not found in the United States any further north than Southern California.

I'm a moron maybe, but that seems really poorly worded. I live in So Cal, is that saying these spiders here!?!

If I see one, I'm going to shat myself, then I'm going to cry, then possibly shat myself again.

Was at my GF's place in Chula Vista, she left her patio door open, and some spider came in. Was decent sized, not huge or nothing, had a red body. I tried to kill it but it was on her comforter, and it fell, I'm not sure I ever got it. She tells me afterwards there's some tree/bushes on the hill in her complex that are covered with these spiders. I slamed the patio door after hearing that.

read this on the spider site

Here's one of the biggest Huntsman I have ever seen, living in my bathroom. He is around 13cm across (5 inches) and I wish he would pick someone else's house to live in!! Looks like a relation of the one below also found in Brisbane!!

ummm who the FVCK let's a spider that big "live in their bathroom" If I wake up to go shower, and see a 5 inch across spider in my bathroom. The house is up for sale that day.

I think we saw huntsmans in Hawaii on the big island. Dayum big spiders anyway.
I kid you not, first one was in a porta-potty at a city park.
I started spotting them in various places, and when we got to our B and B after dinner out in Hilo, there was this huge one in the common room between our rooms. I distracted everyone, made small talk, goodnight everybody......

After everyone went to bed, I went back to the common room, opened the screen door and chased the bastige out, then closed both doors.

I just knew if anyone else saw it<wife>, nobody would have gotten any sleep:)

No way I'm letting a poisonous snake go in my neighboorhood. There are kids everywhere, not to mention my pets.

I agree..

Kinda sucks you live in Phoenix! Cause I do to, where are you located exactly? I hate snakes..
