You just got another Athlon XP1700+ working for you. just one question, if I leave it runnung all the time will it slow down my computer ?

As for slowing down the machine..... sort of.

In most cases you won't even notice the thing. 😀

However if you are playing some really intense games you may want to switch it off.

(Just remember to turn it back on when you are done.) 😉

Second what Client are you using GUI ( Grafic screensaver version ) og CLI ( Text based ) CLI is the fastest !!!
 
I'm running the CLI - Setidriver - Setispy setup on my XP1700+ w/ PC-166 ram cas.2 and the Setidriver set to low.
I keep it running even if i play UT and it works great !!!

Same as toft-dk, I play Q3 and UT with the seti CLI running in background on my XP 1600+. Only an occasional, very slight hiccup in games, nothing disruptive. My machine is always on 24/7, last reboot 3 days ago was caused by temp monitoring proggie locking up......
Some have had trouble using Outlook 2000(?) and the CLI.......

I have a Duron 650@850 and SETI runs 24/7, I play UT, Serious Sam, Max Payne and don't notice any problems or slowdowns other than my own response times. 🙂
