I just heard on the news that Dell is recalling 4 million laptop batteries dating back as far as 2002

This is crazy. Anyway I actually heard this on the news last night, which would have been about 12 hours ago.

From what i can remember, they stated that they are recalling 4 million laptop batteries that date back as far as 2002 upto july of this year.

They also claim that some of the batteries have already caught fire and some what exploded. The is caused by the battery internally shorting, so they say.

The batteries are apparently made by Sony. Shame on Sony, I wouldn?t have thought a company like that would be susceptible against design flaws this extreme. Lol especially on a simple battery.

I have a dell laptop, but it is a company one, i think i might just let it burn up and get a new one :p

hmm we have 2 confirmed bad batteries catching fire, and a hand full of other reports of bad batteries.

Yes a error of what 2-20 in 4,000,000 is terrible. .00005% to .0005%. WOW, evil sony. phhf
