I just had to teach about 10 people in my office what 'NSFW' stands for.

I just assumed everyone knew that one. I was very surprised.

Do people in the real world not know these things? :hmm:

No, I don't think the average person knows what NSFW stands for. I only see it on internet forums where nerds hang out :awe:

So used to seeing it, I assumed it was everywhere. Guess I should not assume.

i find most of OT translates poorly to real life. a few times ive yelled out "id hit it!" when it was less than tasteful to do... with less than stellar results

This is a sign that you're spending too much time on forums.

I remember saying "GTFO" and "ROFL" to my bro in casual conversation once and he looked at me like I had 3 heads: "What does that mean? Is that part of your nerd speak?" Lulz.

On topic though, did you break out the tentacle porn for a demonstration of what is NSFW? :sneaky:

Wait... did you actually SAY the letters "GTFO"?

Hmm, no, but it was Japanese. :hmm:

I've said 'shens" many times before without issue, but maybe people were just pretending to know it meant. ^_^

I'd assume NSFW was common knowledge for anyone who uses the internet, even on a casual basis. I'm not exactly young, and I've known what it meant for quite awhile.

I've done "U Mad" and "Cool Story Bro" to folks IRL. It's pretty amusing.

I used to weird folks out with this one. They'd say/or tell me something that's supposed to be funny, but isn't. Then I'd just look at em with a straight bored expression and say "lol". It got some amusing reactions.

Maybe the people who don't know are the ones actually working. You kiddies seem to think work is playtime these days. It is surprising you still have jobs.
