I'm really curious if all these people saying the Jews aren't a race or some other dumbass excuse would be OK with their 8-12 year old child explaining to people "Joogle is like Google for Jews." I don't have any children but I certainly wouldn't allow my child to say that.

At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter if the Jews are actually a 'race'. The holocaust happened largely because Hitler and many others succeeded in convincing the population that being a Jew was no longer a religious issue (that could be fixed if one converted), but instead was a racial issue that had no cure. It may not be true, but enough people were convinced that killing 6 million+ Jews was a good idea.

It's a real site, every result/link goes to the same weird-ass flash video that may or may not be offensive to Jews. However, nothing the kid said or did came across as racist. He's reading it off the top of the freaking page, verbatim.

Depending on how old your kid is, you're either a jackass yourself, or simply being wildly oversensitive on behalf of Jews everywhere. If the kid is under 10 or so it's impossible to think he could've known any better. All you're doing is setting the kid up to hypersensitive about race and to see racism everywhere, in everything everyone does. And everyone LOVES that guy.

I'm saying that since the late 1800s/early 1900s, more than a handful of people DO believe that Jews are a race and saying, "Oh, it's not a big deal. I'm not surprised that you seem to be missing the points I was trying to make with my original post. I know, it's way cooler to be a badass on some internet message board. I'm not calling anybody a racist. Sure, I got a chuckle over it. However, what I was trying to explain was I thought the OP was right in telling his kid that sort of thing wasn't OK. That's it.

It must have been to deep again when I explained that most people, even today, still think Jew is a racial category. Like I said, I'm not going to let a kid of mine say something like that just because Jews aren't really a race. Maybe you don't care, great. On the other hand, I don't really care if you think I'm 'stupid'.
