the alarm is malfunctioning, and has been lately...it randomly goes off(usually late at night or early in the morning :/) lately for up to 20 minutes at a time, and doesn't ever seem to get shut off

he is aware that his alarm is causing problems, i know this because i've told him....however he apparently refuses to disable it

so tonight when it started up i once again went to beat on his door...with no response, which is what happens every time this happens...i then went into my garage with the intention finding tools to prying open his hood and remove the battery(yes i was that pissed off at that point) then a bit of sense entered my head and i called the police to have the damn thing towed

am i a dick? i don't give a fuck what you think...now i'm wide awake and rambling on the internet at 5am on a sunday

time to try to go back to sleep

It sucks that he's going to know it was you, but your action seems justified. You gave him multiple warnings and chances for him to fix it in good faith, but he didn't. I'm sure most of the e-thugs here would have towed him with zero warning 😉

I still have anger management problems and would have done something heinous.
This is one of the reasons I had a hard time adjusting to life when I left the Navy. Civilians just seem so primitive and uncivilized to me. Its amazing that unless someone is being threatened with jail or serious loss of personal property, they dont give a fuck about anything.

You gave him the benefit of the doubt before by informing him at least once about the alarm. Having not been fixed, you kept some sense and did the right thing.

He's the dick for waking everyone up at 5am and doing nothing about it.
 
You acted rightly OP. Dude's still probably going to be pissed, even though he has no right to be. Damn people can be dicks sometimes.
 
Was the car parked in the guys drive-way? If so someone is going to have a problem monday morning. At least here, we can't to someones car out of their own drive way unless we are impounding it for something. This could get interesting.
