Could you get the job information from them and circumvent them with the employee and you get paid by the employer?

Yes, this is underhanded. I tend to have bad thoughts where a**hats are involved.

They usually just send me the job description, and length of contract.

You probably could...maybe they'd give you that meeting...BUT, in the end, the recruiter filled the job at no extra cost to the company. He probably got a bonus.
