I just got pwned by my 3 YO son

Found a month old DVD from Blockbuster stuffed into my DVD collection.

Sucks that its a 2 day rental too.

The worst part is its Cold Creek Manor.

Blockbuster fuggin' sucks. They probably make 80% of their revenue from late fees.

All movie places do that. Late fees are a huge source of revenue. Thats why I do my old 'dump and run'. There's plenty of movie places.

They wouldn't if people returned movies on time.

true, but don't forget that whole fiasco where they charged people late fees w/o the customers actually having late fees. I'm sure lots of people didn't fight the wrongful charges and just paid.

If he's anything like I was at 3, prepare for him to own your tools and leave them dying slow painful deaths all over the front yard. Prepare for him to lose only the wrenches you need and the one socket you need will now be in his Legos box under his bed - unfindable. Also, anything nice that is reachable will be destroyed. Anything nice that is unreachable will be eventually pulled off the shelf and promptly destroyed. Also, you will be vomitted on only when wearing nice new clothes.

eh.. that was supposed to be funny. I quit kthxbye

That's the dumbest move in the world. Blockbuster has been doing credit damage for unpaid late fees for over 3 years now.

I got mighty pissed when I found out my friend rented a movie with my blockbuster card, returned it 3 weeks after it was due, and I never got the notice because it was sent to my old college address.

I just told them that my other card was lost and that I hadn't lived anywhere near that blockbuster for a year (which was true, I never knew my friend had the card) and the manager nullified the debt and cancelled my account for me.

I've heard from some people though (specifically an employee at BB), that if you go into a blockbuster you don't frequent and go to rent something, if they ask about the late fee you simply tell them you paid it at another location and they will remove it for you, assuming the people at the other location didn't update their records.

blobckbuster sucks anyways...
just go to a small privately owned video rental store.
They have all the videos you want, most likely, and they don't charge a ridiculous $4-5 a rental
There's this place called Video 94 in my area, $2 a rental.

There are a few with that name... Chain or what?

There's a place called "DVD Palace" in Orange (I'm looking at it out my window right now) that's $2 for 4 nights.

I do that to my wife all the time, she rents, I return.....most generally a few days (up to a week late.)

Every time she comes busting in the back door holding a BB movie with that "you are a prick" look on her face I know I have been busted.

I still find it funny.

So what happened... you never returned a DVD at all after renting it or did you return the wrong one in the box ? I can't imagine anyone completely forgetting to return a rental.

You know... if you want to be skip out on a huge charge... you can just tell Blockbuster that you did return it and to please take the charge off. They may tend to believe you since it can be human error on their end also. Happened to me... they said I never returned something and I would never borrow that movie in a million years in the first place... and I'm the only one with my card. I asked them to just take the charge off and they did it without hesitation.

I went to return it and they had already charged it to my CC.

It was $24 for the late charges and $13 for the DVD. I told them they could keep the DVD so it was just $24.

All told it was about $30. 🙁

I could have bought a Simpsons DVD collection for that much.

Too true, too true, a female friend of mine never returns movies on time, mostly 2 weeks or so late, 2 months ago she had racked up $80 or so in late fees lol
