I'm happy for you doing this kind deed for our soldiers but as for the above statement I'd rather give Crayons, Candy, and other stuff for the AMERICAN poor/homeless kids out there. I mean lets take care of our own FIRST.

But :wine::D to you for the soldiers.

I agree 100%, which is why I also give money to American charities and sponser a less fortunate American child. But the thinking behind these programs, is that if the kids go home with a new attitude, then the parents might have a change of heart also. Might work, might not... but for the price of a box of crayons... $
2.00... less than the price of a beer.... well, ya know!

:)

KarenMarie,

Thanks for supporting the troops. You have no idea how much it means to the guys and girls deployed out there.

One thing that is surprisingly popular in hot areas like the middle east is women's maxi pads. Guys in the field can place them either in their boots (as makeshift insoles), or on the forehead area of the kevlar helmet-- it absorbs sweat and oil, and prevents the gross ring of pimples you can get when you're wearing that thing all day long in >100 degree weather.

Although I still have to admit that when i read the title of your post i wondered if this was something sexual...

I got my family to.. well, I said that instead of buying each other gifts, we should just drop all the money in a pot and shop for the soldiers and their families. A kind of THANK YOU from people here that are safe and have plenty already!

But you are correct, guys.. they like 4 wheeler, Motor Trend, and etc. And lip balm.. Good Lord, by the case load!! And The washing machine in Iraq and Afghanastan must eat one of each pair of socks, too... cause they ask for them like I have never seen.

:)

If it's anything like the US or any other place with a washing machine, I go through so many socks because I always lose one of the freakin' things.
