I just got my new Chase Plus Rewards card, and the credit limit's kinda low...

Depends on how many CC's you have...sometimes.

My Credit Score is 780, and I only recieved a credit limit of 2000 from a Citibank Dividend platinum. My car is paid off, my only debt is my home.

good, you dont need to spend a ton of money on credit, zillions of people are already drowning in it.

I got the citibank dividend card my freshman year of college. I believe they started me out at 3,000 credit limit with no prior history or any credit rating. I'm a junior now and it's $5,500. Maybe they just want me to get destroyed by debt 🙂 I just pay it off in full every month and use the cash back feature all the time.

I have an Amex Gold card that has no credit limit.
I have an Amex Platinum Business that has a ~$20,000 limit.

This is my first Chase card.

I just paid for a credit score about a week ago, and it was 800. All debts are paid off.

When can I expect an increase in my credit line?

It sounds about right for you, they know of your camera equipment fetish. And are protecting you from yourself.😉

Call them and ask for a larger limit. It's very likely they'll give you a higher one if you call in.

You can call and ask. If you're credit is as good as you think it is, they will raise it no problem.

You can call as csr and ask them to raise it. They may ask for proof of income.

I have a BP Visa through Chase with a $13,000 limit. I applied for and got the Rewards Mastercard through them, and got a $5,000 limit.

I think my Sony card is through Chase too and it's also a $5,000 limit.

I think a lot of it depends on your household income that you state when you sign up. My BP Visa is so high because they kept raising the limit when I'd have bills of $3,000-4,000/month and pay them off.

I like my Citi rewards card the best. I have the Chase Plus Rewards card, but I never use it. I like Citi's online look and feel better.

Credit score is not the be-all and end-all of determining what to give to an applicant. Length of credit history is important. Income is important. Having different types of accounts is important (installment, revolving, mortgage). All those factor into the decision.

Your Amex Gold definitely has a limit. They just don't tell you what it is. They may have reported it on your credit report. Or if they just reported the "high credit" it's only going to show the most you ever charged in one month.

The Business card probably does not report on your personal credit report, so Chase likely never saw it.

I got the same low credit limit from Chase. Not that I would buy $1k in gas, groceries, or drug store purchases a month (got this card to farm 5% rebate, not to buy other stuff). They raise my limit once every 2-3 months.

I started with a Chase CC four years ago when I was 18. It started at a 1k limit. I had to ask for a 2k limit a few months later so I could at least put an entire computer system on the card (built a few systems for friends and family). Last year they raised my limit to a whopping 3k.
