I just got my Liteon 52 speed burner..any tips?

have not installed it yet but any tips on dos and don'ts?

Its my first burner and I am inexperienced in burner related stuff🙁

Oh what speed media works best with the 53 speed? Brand media? speed to set it to for burn? other tips?

Start with slower "rated" media and see how fast it works. I have a BenQ 48x12x48 and I have been using a spindle of "IBM" brand 16X media and I can burn at 40X with no problems. Try some 32X rated and see how fast it will go. The only time I was able to burn CDRs at rated speed was using the CDR that came with my drive. Good Luck!
 
Make sure your jumper is set for the position on your IDE cable you put the drive on and if using Nero get the latest update from ahead.de ..enjoy 🙂 compudog you sure your Benq is not 48x16x48 ..?

Good Tip! My thoughts were to make sure you get good media. I have some el cheapo, but can only burn at 32x, and some at 24x. Flash the drive with the latest correct firmware, new firmware made a world of difference in my 48x and cdr compatability.A good CDR site.
 
Is there anything software related that don't go good together? Nero and alcohol together? etc.

I don't want any software conflicts...

my 16x imations work fine at 48x (in my 48x/12x/48x liteon)
