Oh you know... I just thought of the most interesting recipe. Because scallions combine those delicious properties present in the Allium genus, how about using them inside of a wrapped piece of meat. Now what I had in mind is making a Schechuan type marinade with Hoisin sauce and taking a scallion and wrapping beaten, thin, tenderized pieces of pork around it, then skewering that and marinading the mix. Then cooking on a grill. Meat is tenderized, stays moist and delicious from the scallion without the strong taste of garlic or the oniony taste of... onion
