I was driving south on Erin St.
She was driving west on Ellice.

I slowed down as I apporached the intersection because before I got to the intersection I had a red light. About 4 or 5 seconds before I got to the intersection, the light turned green for me.

She sped up to try to beat the red light on Ellice. She didn't make it. As she sped through the red light, I T-boned her.

Nobody was hurt, but it seems like both vehicles will be written off. I have a '92 Mazda B2200, she had a small sedan (I don't even know what kind of car).

There are two witnesses saying that she ran the red light, so I'm happy about that.

I dunno, thats my story.

What a dumbass... :disgust:

I have no sympathy for people that run red lights on purpose.

We Canadians aren't so quick to sue about everything. I'm fine and wont need any treatment. I have no pain or suffering (although I can't sleep at the moment :)). I'm just glad nobody was hurt, and I hope that my truck can be fixed (I couldn't find a vehicle like that with the money I'd get if it was written off).

Would you advocate suing for "pain and suffering" in a minor fender bender? If so, there's your answer. He should only sue for pain and suffering if he was in pain and suffering. Otherwise, you're just being a dick.

if accident was result of 5mph then i will say no , not enough demage on the car. But from his post saying that his car more likely will be written off, it tell ms it was faster then 5 mph and there is alot of damage on the car

So what? So you're suing for the car's pain and suffering?

That's what insurance is for. Suing for pain and suffering when there was no pain and suffering is wrong.

maybe so, but the only way to get an attorney is to sue for pain and suffering, that is how they make the money and its standard practice in los angelest to do this.

I mean, don't get me wrong.. If you have expensive medical bills and such, then by all means..

But it's your generic response to every car accident thread. That's why you get flammed for it. It sounds to us like you're just being a loser and trying to milk the system.

What's the crap about only being able to get an attorney by suing for pain and suffering? That's a bunch of Wduaq. You call any attorney with any reason, as long as it's valid.

Infact, I'd say that just automatically suing for "pain and suffering" is less likely to get you an attorney, unless it was obvious that there was actual pain and suffering.

Edit: Then again, maybe not. A "good" attorney would probably jump at the chance. But still, it's certainly not the only way to get one.

Miami's the same way. Nice place to visit, but would NEVER live there.

And besides, just because it's common practice doesn't make it right. That's an excuse for the weak-willed, in my opinion.

yes u can get an attorney for any reason but you then have too choices, paying him self or let him sue for pain and suffering. Attorney makes the money, doctor makes the money and you make the money. Everyone get 33%.
It may not be right to sue someone for injure that you don't have but when you want to get attorney and you face with the option pay your self for attorney of having sue for pain and suffering and instead of paying for his service you make money, alot of people will sue

Jesus, no wonder my insurance keeps going up with numbnuts like Ylen13 out there.

Do you realize that "pain and suffering" are the most difficult things to collect on in a lawsuit? Why would you sue for anything more than medical bills anyway?

I hope you are not indicative of the norm, but I fear you are.
