my company got hit by the RPC server vulnerability today and the manager checked to see if i was surfing the web from IE'S address history.
i visited anandtech while at work one time and i forgot to clear my history and he asked if those links were mine and i said yes. then he said i was terminated as of now because he thinks that i've downloaded a virus. i told him that it wasn't a virus and it was just a well known bug in windows and all you gotta do is go patch the pc's from windowsupdate, but he insisted that it was the same thing. kinda ironic how i gave them my two weeks notice few weeks ago and this friday would have been my last day... i didn't even wanna stay this last two weeks but i thought that it'd be better if i was a nice guy and give them a two weeks courtesy notice. oh well.
 
that sucks, but at least you already put in your notice.. so i take it you have something else lines up?

Perhaps. However, the original poster said that he forgot to clear the history. This leads me to believe he is not supposed to be browsing the internet while at work.

my company's pretty small and he's pretty high up there. i think there's only one guy above him who would've done the same.

but who actually listens to those reqs? every job i've ever had (okay, granted, i've only had 1..) every person was browsing the internet a lot. hell, i saw one person with a trillian window open!
