So i decided to go to top up petrol for my bike, went to a pretty notorious area for its crime rates, mainly because of the cheaper petrol there. I was with 3 other platoon mates, we had the weekend off from the army base we are attached to.
I'm done topping up petrol and just hanging around waiting for the rest of my friends, suddenly this ragged guy comes up to me and acts all scared, looking over his shoulder, he sidles up to me and takes out a rolex, presses it into my hand, and tell me 200 bucks.
I'm like huh? Is this really happening to me. He tell me he stole it from his boss and is on the run. I tell him no, I don't want it, and I don't have the cash for it.
He then becomes desperate, and I mean really pressuring me into getting that obviously fake rolex. So it goes back and forth for about 5 mins, with me telling him that I don't have the cash for it and him getting even MORE desperate.
By this time there are people watching, as the guy is drawing the attention of the other people at the kiosk. My friends are telling me to just leave the damn watch.. but the guy is just so persistent and pressurising me. I don't know what came over me but at that moment it felt like I couldn't just leave the guy, even though I wanted to just get the hell out of there.
So I made the mistake of taking out my wallet and shoving 50 bucks to him, just to get him to leave me alone. I didn't want the fake rolex and tried giving him the watch back together with the 50.
He grabbed the 50 and put it in his pocket, I swear the 50 bucks disappeared so fast I didn't know it was out of my hand
Anyway, he wante more than just 50 bucks, and i just wanted to get the hell out of there. I though the guy could have had a knife or some other weapon on him, and I didn't want to stay to find out.
Lucky I was with my friends, they came over and stood behind me, and asked what the guy wanted. The sight of 4 of us against 1 of him I guess was enough to scare him off and he left with my 50
Well, at least I have the fake rolex and another lesson learned
