I just got a PS One, WooHoo!

First time owner of a PS One, the compact design. Well, i want to put it in car, so i got the PS one and lcd screen.

I have a few questions, how to play backups? Does todays backups have self-boot or do i need a boot disc or gameshark?

I just need to know for the sake of General Knowledge tats all! Thnks.

I saw a card online that can make a ps0ne play VCDS...you should get that and play music videos in ur car or bootleg movies... But hey, did u get the LCD from outpost? the ROSEN one? If so then install a vcr or a dvd while ur at it since it has a/v inputs on it

yes i did, but after buying the lcd, i just want it to play games cos i can watch VCDs or DVDs on my laptop and the screen is much bigger!

modchip. The self boot is for dream cast only.

Definetely play Metal Gear Solid. And then if you can, go borrow/rent Metal Gear Solid 2 and play that on a rented/borrowed PS2. I guarantee you won't be disappointed

I've seen boot discs on some sites before, I dont know if they work or not... You need to do some kind of swap too, I would just mod it like I did mine. Not too hard took like 45 minutes patients but it works and works with every game.. Check Modchip.com or Modchips.com

Edit: the boot disc is called PS-X-Change 2 and its on Modchip.com

thnks guys, i had a dreamcast and selfboot was the way to go, so i thought after many years, someone would create a bootdisk for the PS 1 too! Too bad still need a modchip, i guess i have no choice!

1st game i bought is FInal Fantasy Tactics, i'm playing it now and it is awesome, i won Metal Gear Solid on PC sometime back, so i may not buy it again but ...... if i can find it cheap i'll get it!

I cannot stand Final Fantasy series cos it is so complicated, without hint/tactic books, you cannot win!
I think on FInal Fantasy 7, i had to grow a Gold Chicobo to cross a place, but it was so difficult to..... i quit the game after a long play on it!

You had to grow a Gold one? I don't remember having to do that in that game. I remember it was pretty easy Maybe you're going about it wrong.

You don't have to grow a gold chocobo unless you want the Knights of the Round summon. Maybe you are a little slow, because it was so easy .

you have to get the gold chocobo to get to the final summon. you dont NEED it, but boy that summon sure is awesome

i cannot remember if FF7 or FF8, but it was on the PC, not playstation. I had to "grow" a Gold Chicobo inorder to advance the game, that was what my walkthrough said! Well, that was many years ago
