Huston we might have a problem.

It ran flawlessly, but I'm seriously getting bottlenecked with lack of PCI-E 2.0 and a fast CPU, most games are only running 1/5 to 2/5 faster than my 280

Why do you say this? what makes you think you are getting bottlenecked? General consensus last time i checked was not even the pci-e 1.0 16x bandwidth limitations were close to being reached. Meaning 2.0 bandwidth is just a complete waste.

I also remember reading an article that showed that hardly any games are "cpu-limited" unless you are running at really low resolutions, which you obviously arent. The article ran the latest games with cpus ranging from old athlons and pentiums to the latest core 2 duos and the fps range wasnt that drastic. Minus the few games games that were multicore optimized running on the single core cpus.

There are also articles with a high end GPU like the 295 or SLI/Xfire and you can get fine fps with a lower clocked dual but the faster your cpu is, the better your average fps will be. It's even better concerning minimum fps which is the most important one to look at.
