i just formatted and reinstalled windows xp with SP1..

and for some reason a lot, at least 50% of my videos no longer work saying the file format is not supported and cannot playback.. anyone else get this after installing SP1?

any ideas? help please?

I prefer FFDSHOW for playback-only support ... it handles Divx 3/4 and XVid. A little buggy occasionally though.

Download the latest Alpha build. I don't usually install stuff before it reaches beta status, but this one seems to work flawless for me so far. (Installed it when my PC gave so many problems I wanted to reinstall anyway, but I fixed them all it seems)

I had the same thing happen when I went from 98SE to 2000. ...pissed me off!

They wouldn't even playback on my other machine with 98 still on it.
