I just figured out how to make bacon healthy and delicious!

Cholesterol clogs the arteries. Salt causes high blood pressure. So if you sprinkle extra salt on your bacon, it will make your blood pressure so high that it knocks the cholesterol out of your arteries like a tiny plunger.

You're welcome.

Thank you and God bless you!

Also, a very important scientific biological physiological nutritional digestive fact: The cholesterol you eat is not the cholesterol that ends up in your arteries. Your body makes it's own cholesterol. Enjoy your bacon.

Brilliant!!!

I will make sure to dip the bacon into a layer of salt just after I cook it so the grease sticks the salt to the bacon.

Just make sure the bacon is extra greasy. The grease will lube your arteries so the cholesterol can't clog it.

i made my own bacon a couple of weeks ago. turned out pretty good for my first attempt. i know what to tweak next time to make even better. two 8 pound pork bellies

I thought fat being bad was the biggest misconception of nutrition from the 90's?

Bacon is good for you. It's the carb that make you fat. If you're on Keto, you can eat lots of bacon and lose weight.

The only concern about bacon would be the high sodium intake indeed.

The problem with cured meats are the nitrites/nitrates, and the smoking of the meat. All are carcinogens. You know, that stuff all you wienies get on smokers about? I recommend everyone do what they want, and don't worry about dying. You're all gonna do it, so you might as well enjoy your time here.

Excess calories make you fat. Neither fat (besides trans) nor protein nor carbs are bad for you.

No concern with sodium...just eat a banana after your bacon.

Takeaway: Eat lots of bacon. It's good.

I still love the fact that "nutritionists" still don't know this tid bit of info.

Bacon isn't bad because it has a pretty balanced ratio of monounsaturated and saturated fats. I make eggs, french toast and bacon one day most weekends and the french toast & syrup is the worst thing on the plate, nutritionally. Though it IS whole wheat bread ()🙂

Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Yea...no. It has about a 10:1 ratio. That isn't great.

Takeaway: Take a good fish oil supplement and eat more bacon.

I bought some low sodium bacon to try it out. Pretty good, the salt reduction was noticeable.

But I'm sure I'm doing it wrong if I'm complaining about bacon being a bit salty tasting.
