I just fake-and-baked for the first time.

I got a month long, unlimited tanning gift certificate as a gift 😛 It was weird, because the sign-in list had like 50 girls on it, and one guy 😱

It wasn't too bad - I was going to go nekkid, but decided against it once i got there (The thought of radiation on my kibbles and bits didn't sound too fun 😛 Not only that, but I don't know who else's ass had been on that thing). I just left my boxers on, but pullled them up and pushed the waist down.

The whole time I was being bombarded with radiation, the room smelt like buttered popcorn - I was beginning to wonder if I would pop after a few minutes 😛

I tanned for only 7 minutes, and now my whole body feels warm. I'm going to go back in two days.

Anyone else fake and bake? 😛

that or a tanning booth.
i guess it depends on where you live..but around here you look a bit out of place walking around with bronze orange skin in 10 degree weather

hope you like skin cancer

As in all things, the chances of getting skin cancer from the sun or tanning beds are based on many things. The biggest factor is genetics. The second factor is amount of exposure and damage to the skin.

Saying someone who is not light skinned, lightly tans infrequently and does not get sunburned will get cancer is just silly.

Eh - better than getting one bad sunburn once the season begins (which, it already has here). I'd rather get my skin used to it after many attempts than go out in the sun, pasty white and loosing the entire top layer of my epidermis one week later 😉

In moderation tanning can actually be helpful, I had a dermatologist recommend it to me.

I spend essentially no time outside, 10 minutes a couple times a week in a tanning bed isn't going to kill me. And it really does help my skin.

Yep, not to mention regular exposure to sunlight (fake, and real) is good for your emotional and mental health.

Exposure to sunlight, like any carcinogen, is dosage issue. The dose (and your genetics) makes the poison

Because I would cook alive - Outside of my farmers tan - the rest of my body is ghost white.

you used a tanning bed? no no no... that is sooo... ewwww..yuk.

They have stand ups now. You stand in a little stall. There are tubes that go ceiling to floor verticle. They are covered with wire grates. They play loud music. It is a lot cleaner.

🙂

I thought so too??

The term fake bake is a LOT older than Sunless tanning.

It's been around ever since the first tanning salons opened up.
