I just happened to hear a few clips of the group Hawkwind this past weekend and was floored. These guys are effin awesome, they remind me of a cross between Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. Very pyschedelic mixed in with a generous dose of space rock and then the occasional heavy metal riff thrown in from time to time.
To make a long story short, I went to a few used record stores and bought about 14 of their albums on vinyl (I paid less than 20 bucks 😀). I'm going to transfer them to CD once get I get a chance. I'm just really amazed I never heard of these guys before, they have a really good sound.
So are there any other groups out there similar to Hawkwind?
