Man, if it's not waking your family up and you're going to be awake either way then let them celebrate a little bit even though it's "technically" not Independence Day anymore. Maybe they are members of a night crew somewhere and this is the first chance they have to set off some fireworks.

Wow, OP is a wanker. I'm not even American and I have more respect for Americans wanting to celebrate the anniversary of their independence than he does.

Man, it doesnt really get dark til 10 or so. If people have a decent amount of fireworks, it will take them past midnight to set them off. Fireworks are an evening activity. If it was some kind of daytime activity I could understand your frustration.

i called 311 to ask bloomberg to give me some money for having to bear with the traffic created by yesterday's fireworks. he transferred me to the mayor's office but mikey said no.

OT: hey you new yorkers: dont you hate the new rule of "no meters feeding on sunday/holidays" especially in municipal parking lots? people just drive out to those lots and park the whole friggin day. it was better when they require you to pay on sundays, because people had to do their errands around the time they paid for. now this newrule just plain sucks, each person drives one car out and they friggin leave the car there the whole day. you can't find parking anywhere on sundays now. i don't care for street parking that much, but I think if they should leave a few paid meters spots in those lots so that you can park without spending 40 minutes loking for a spot if you pay a few quarters. :| /rant

Never heard of 311 before today. I thank you for introducing it to me OP. I shall use my very first call to 311 to honor you by complaining about this thread.

Wow, thats news to me.
I always had to call the operator or look it up in the govt white pages.
I, too hate calling 911 for anything less than a triple homicide.
