I'm surprised. Where are all the bleeding-hearts screaming about the stupidity of street racing and endangerment to the public?

They're sleeping already.... so they could wake up early and go to church in the morning. :)

Does that make my 88' turbo all-trac celica a ricer? It looks like sh!t but it hauls @ss and corners like it's on rails.

So I put the hammer down and take off, pass him, pull over one lane so it'll be easier for him to pull along side me if he can, and around 115 his engine goes *poof*. I see a little smoke in the rear view mirror, and he faded into the horizon....

I don't like to street race, but damn, that was just pathetic.

Am I supposed to feel happy or sad for you?

Why do you a problem with people having fun with their cars?

As long as you dont hit me when you lose it and crash I couldnt care less if you race. I always laugh when I hear two Civics struggling for revs as they SLOWLY pass me racing.

Hah, was just a story. Don't mind people having fun with their cars, I just hate people who drive slow, but speed up when you want to pass them.

I should've said it was on the highway, at night (read: not many people on road).

I think from now on I'll just save stories. Always bound to be someone who'll flame it. What happened to telling a story for the sake of it, without people thinking you need some sort of praise or lecture?

The other day I raced this high school kid driving an 88 Escort Sport in my 2000 Nissan Skyline that I bought with my parents money to putter around in college from my dorm to class in...he couldn't keep up with me, it was pathetic.

Haha. Cute Flavio. I paid for my own ride. I think some people are failing to see the point. I don't race, was just tired of these cars speeding up when you try to pass them, and when his engine/tranny/whatever went boom, I thought it served him right.

Pffffft! How the hell am I supposed to get around campus reliably in a $8000 car? Geesh....I had to have my parents spend at least $30,000 just so I would have room for my books! (...and of course that little extra insurance when I'm racing all those little economy cars ;) ). I'm paying them back though! I can easily cover the payments, insurance, and gas from my part time job after class.

HAHAHA Skyline conversion. more like a Sylvia conversian with a rediculous hood. I should email that guy and get a pic of under the hood. If there's a red valve cover, it has potential, if not, it's still stock.
Also, if he did a Skyline conversion he'd be wanting way more the 7900. the Skyline is AWD, where the 240 is RWD.

What was really amusing was when I went out to the track, first trip out, 4200LB Dakota, 4.7+5 speed. Orignal Goodyear Eagle LS tires (read: sucks). Filmed a run, 15.7@88 (I was sandbagging the launches way too much). Showed it to a ricer at work, he showed me footage of some of the ricers at work, all running on slicks, 15.8 seconds (he's been out a few times before). Little Integra got outrun by a truck!

I wasn't able to get out and go again before the rainy season came, but I think with the tires I have on now, launching quite a bit harder, and shifting into 4th@5000RPM instead of leaving it in 3rd, and more experience with a clutch (this is my first vehicle with a sticK) I can pull 15.2. Which would make for a good race against an RSX that has a 1400LB weight advantage.

You expect people to pay money, wait all day, and get maybe 2-3 races in at a track?

Maybe they will end up hitting you by as you innocently drive along on the road. Then you might want to send them to the track.

the previous celica alltracs may not LOOK as nice, but it will sure last longer :p
beside, the GT4 makes 190-240hp stock. the GSX makes 210. and the celicas were WRX champs, i never see them Mitsu make it to the real races other than Fast and the Furious :p :)
