Hey guys i actually just bought the Logitech Z680 5.1 speaker system from amazon.com

Looks like a great system with enough kick in it to be comparable to the Klipsh system which would be a few hundred dollars more. What do ya people think?

And would u suggest the Audigy 2 or the Audigy 2 Gamer? Same thing? Different? Iunno. I got the speakers i just want the right sound card for it now. Thanks in advance for your input again.

On the speakers, I'd have advised against the 680s, but what's done is done, and it's not like they're horrible, just maybe not the best purchase. Audigy 2 gamer is the same card but with more bundled games, iirc. I'd go with either the basic card or, if you want a remote control & 5.25" drive bay i/o panel, the platinum pro.

Congrats on your purchase. Wondering what you paid including s&h? I just received mine from newegg. Paid $253.00 shipped (2 days mind you). I hope your not planning on using the speaker wire (ahem) that came with the set. I would highly recommend getting something better. Enjoy!

Good speakers. I'm happy with my Creative T5400's 5.1 system... and my onboard sound is just great. I have an MSI K8N Neo Platinum Motherboard... if your onboard sound isn't cutting it, or doesn't support 5.1, I'd recommend the Audigy 2 ZS... the Gamer edition just has some games bundled with it, sound quality isn't all the different, at least that's what I gathered when I compared them at the local pc store.

acutally i paid 209 flat. No shipping. Mind you that it's gonna take 6-10 days to get here but i paid no tax and no S&H so i got a pretty good deal. And im definately just gonna get teh Audigy 2 Zs now. Thanks for your input.

oh and im definately not gonna use the speaker wire that it's going to come with. I will look into the type of speaking wire i need when it all gets here.
