Oi, why didn't I read all the bad feedback?
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eB...ack&userid=exicite

I already bought the item (a laptop). So far I've sent him an email stating very clearly all the things that are the item description, and asking him to clearly assert that all those things are true about the laptop he's selling me. Unfortunately, this guy has bad english, so that makes things more difficult.

Please relate any advice or experience you've had with bad ebay sellers and expensive items. I really need it. If you know of anything I can do right now to make sure it will go smoothly if the item arrives not as described, please let me know.

He's 4/7 for positive feedback this past month.. As terrible as that is maybe you'll get lucky... otherwise... it's time to prep to take legal action for fraud, etc etc.

i've only had one deal go sour, but the guy at least spoke english so it wasn't too difficult. Good luck with this, hopefully you won't get secrewed...

remember from here on out to check feedback 😛

pay him with paypal, but use your credit card for it so if anything happens, you can do a chargeback

Did you read feedback dated August 17th about a laptop being sent with no padding? Make sure he doesn't do that to yours....

Hopefully you'll get lucky. Why would you not read feedback for an item worth that much? That just blows my mind. Goodluck though 🙂 You have better than 50/50 that you'll be fine.

I don't have a credit card. I use my visa check card for paypal. does that work?

It should, since it's visa, but credit cards are more reliable for this, and you may want to confirm first. If you've already paid the guy I'd just cross my fingers. I think you'll probably be ok.
If it were me... I would take the neg and not risk sending money.
Me too, unless I'd already sent it :Q

I don't think you get the same protection w/ a check card. But you may want to confirm by calling pp.

or e-mail and oppologize that you have come up short on the money. maybe you can get by without any feedback being transfered.

now I'm trying to figure out exactly how to notify ebay about this, and protect myself from any bad feedback

I sent ebay cust. service a copy of the emails and asked for legal protection in case of any trouble with him demanding payment or anything.

In one of his negatives his reply is that he doesn't take paypal.
And if you go to that very same auction, it actually says that he does take Paypal and his Paypal email is listed (although his English is extremely bad).

I think this guy is just an asshole who enjoys screwing over every third or fourth buyer for his personal amusement. Don't take chances. File a complaint with Ebay, don't pay, and risk the neg. In respsonse to the neg, just say that it was a misleading auction, that he told you that the laptop was broken AFTER you won the auction, that's why you didn't pay, and invite readers to scan this seller's feedback for themselves so that they might understand.
