OK, I just bought an MP4 player off ebay. (first time buyer btw)

This is a letter i recieved after I sent a message to the seller about shipping.

What does it mean??

Sounds like hes trying to get you to contact him outside of E-Bay in order to complete the deal & I don't think its a good idea unless you want to get scammed.

I suggest you hold off paying & contact E-bay immediately to see how to proceed ... also somone more familar with E-Bay on ATOT may well have some additional advice for you soon.

Well, here's the problem:

1) I sent him a paypal e-check a week after the bid ended. The e-check will also take 11 days until he receives it. He specifies that payment must be in by 5 days.

i just want to clarify the situation.

2) Also, he states that he must have a confirmed paypal address to ship to.
I just moved and changed my address on paypal.

Anyways, I just want confirmation that the deal is still on.

He's not replying to anything.

I think, it just sounds like he wants you to email him from your personal mail system with your Ebay number, because it's easier for him to sort out, he probably sells in high volume.

if you payed with a paypal account that has the wrong confirmed address, well, dude, you screwed yourself

what is he supposed to do? you have to do your part correctly. fix your address on paypal and maybe it'll sort itself out. if you are lucky

next time, don't bid/buy something with paypal unless you have it right, confirmed address etc etc etc

Wow, sounds like you did everything wrong. Why send him an e-check a week after the bid when you're supposed to pay him within five days? And you don't have a confirmed paypal address.

Good luck but lesson learned. And for future reference, don't buy or send money to anyone in Nigeria or Cameroon.

I have hundreds of transactions on Ebay, almost all people are not out to scam you, so relax. Chances are you are not getting robbed.

Having said that, for a first timer making a rather large purchase, I would have done a better job with the details (Paypal, etc) before forking over that kind of dough.

This is really cheap when you consider shipping is free. OP, tell use the quality of the player after you receive it.

With 10,000+ feedbacks after one year, the seller should be very safe. With this kind of volume, I can see the seller having problem managing his ebay communication.

When you said that you were getting emails outside of ebay the first thing I thought was that someone else was phishing your info and that you were paying him instead of the seller.
