I just bought a Vizio TV.

UPDATE: Had to get rid of her. She had a mighty fine picture, but I noticed 2 stuck pixels appear right next to each other, one bright green, and one dimly lit blue. When I got the TV, I spent about 20 minutes with different backgrounds looking for stuck/dead pixels, and there were none.

Unfortunately, my TV didn't qualify for Vizio's 0 stuck pixel policy, so I ended up selling it for $200 less than I bought it for. I went and bought an LG, and after spending almost an hour looking for artifacts, I found nothing.

I still stand by my Vizio is great policy, but it didn't work out for me this time. Besides, their higher end TV's have a beautiful policy regarding stuck/dead pixels (it even says right on the box!!!)

I just can't stand LCD defects.

I feel so dirty. This is the first "off-brand" item I've ever bought, and I kinda like it. Hopefully it'll last longer than a year.

At least I hear Vizio is a the top of the bootleg LCD manufacturer chain? ugh...

I think it's like those UTZ potato chips here in NYC. At first they were considered bootleg, but they were cheaper than Doritos and tasted just as good. After a while they lost the "bootleg" air surrounding them.

I guess its the same for Vizio now. lol

I saw a 55" 120hz model at Costco yesterday and it looked pretty good...

Yeah, I am surprised. I got a really good picture out of mines. I got a 32" for my bedroom connected to my PS3, 360 and HTPC for some 1080p goodness. It actually looks as good as the 24" Samsung 1080p that it is replacing.

Um, how are TVs and potato chips 'boot leg'? It's a less recognized/respected brand name, that's all.

Do you really like the way those 120Hz TV's look? I know you can turn off the 120Hz feature, but when it's enabled, it gives everything this fake "live camera" look which totally pisses me off.

It might be fun to enable the 120Hz feature for some gaming though...it might give the illusion of higher framerates...

my vizio has done an outstanding job so far since i bought it for 899 a while back (over a year)

1080p42inch LCD Is there best value/performance

I have a Proscan. It's been great.
Aren't Proscans RCA?
Are you implying that RCA is somehow a top-tier brand again? Not since the Thompson Consumer Electronics acquisition. RCA was once noted for quality, but is just a commodity brand now.

As for Vizio, the HDTV elitists will mock you, but they're a great deal for the money. Enjoy.

Not to go off topic, but, since you kinda brought it up, can someone explain to me why, for example, wen you watch the old, original, Twilight Zone episodes, it is so obvious which ones were done live and which ones were not?

But isn't that how things look in real life, smooth and without stutter? It just looks "fake" because we're not accustomed to it yet.

My friend has a 42'' one. We play Xbox and watch movies on there all the time and the picture is great. Haven't heard of any problems with it either.

I've been looking really hard at vizio TVs at Wal-Mart. They look pretty good to me.

I own this. Awesome set.

I had the 47" Vizio before and it had great picture as well - But the sound went out occasionally and it drove me crazy so I got the 55".

They are now owned by Sony.

If my bedroom TV went out, I would buy a third Vizio without missing a beat.
