Shaving doesn't make hair grow back quicker or fuller - the hair is still growing at the same rate, you've just removed less of it by shaving instead of tweezing.

I could tell you that, because I have the answer, but at this point I'll need payment. This isn't a charity.
Why pay someone who doesn't know that a saying isn't literal in the meaning of "overnight" by definition. That?d be a huge waste of money. It wasn?t even my original point. I asked why people just automatically believe everything Snopes says. Not that they are right and wrong in this instance, but it seems a lot of people believe Snopes.
FYI: The Barbara Mikkelson at the bottom of the article is a housewife that started the web site with her husband.

yea but shaving would cause the hair come back in a stubble. and the hair that grows back will be hard. But tweezing or waxing where hair is pulled out from the root will cause that hair to come back softer

You're just chopping off dead hair. The follicles extrude hair of a certain thickness. What happens to it beyond that - shaved, braids, cornrows, whatever - doesn't affect it. It's like taking an aluminum rod, freshly extruded from a manufacturing machine, cutting it in half,Originally posted by: LikeLinus

Why does everyone trust Snopes?
They offer no scientific proof or data on that page. At the bottom of the page they have "source", which includes a bunch of references to newspaper articles. They don't even note which myth the reference is the source.
They say this is a myth: " A sudden shock can turn a head of hair grey overnight"
But then they say that someone who's hair would have gone grey quickly anyway is subjected to horrible news, this is a coincidence? They use Barbara Bush as an example. Her child died and she went grey within a month. But they are saying this is just a coincidence? She was going to go grey anyway at a very rapid rate?!?!? LOL. How the fuck is that proof of anything.

it does hurt... not too bad though. its a quick pinch. some hairs come out easy, some almost bring the tweeze to its knees, where its more of an unsuccessful yank than a successful pull.. but i've had a semi hairy back (not like an ape, just patches of hair that could pass as pubes on my back)... so it feels good to have it gone and also have a process I can do at home to keep it this way. plus I dont have to worry about razor burn or it coming back as stubble...

A month is not overnight.
No.Way. Tell me more. Your wisdom is awe inspiring.
Okay. "No" is not a sentence. Neither is "Way". Also, they're dispelling the myth that you could wake up literally the next morning with a full head of gray hair.

I mean get it waxed! That's way to long. The price of wasing and the batteries will even out.
How did you reach all the areas of your back, tape it to a stick?
actually tonight, im going to have my roommate check my back for any areas I missed..
im pretty flexible though. and most of the parts that were bad (actual patches of hair that could be over an inch long) i could reach.
but this thing even pulled out peach fuzz.

OK, I will pay you $20 for video of your roommate pulling hairs out of your back.
That's one hell of a roommate.
