I still use a Charcoal grill but I think I'll get a new gas grill this summer. The cost, mess and hassle of Charcoal just isn't worth it

I have a weber gas grill which can also be used as a charcoal grill. However, it is somewhat rusted now and I never have used it since the new city ordinances about grills on patios.

I have a rather unique one,

A Grill-N-Roast 3020L

It has louvers for Phase Cooking (like in a floor heating grate that you can open and close to keep drippings from reaching the open flame. it is "Flare-Proof"! ;) ) It does a GREAT job at low-heat all-day barbecueing (makes great BBQ pulled pork with smoking and a 12-hour cook time!

I heard that they went out of business :( (I am surprised the website is still up!)

read what the experts say, not Joe consumer. Webster is stil lthe best bang for the buck. I'll admit, those Vermont Casting grills do look good though.

The thing with grills, is I want ot kepp it a long time, so I need replacement parts. I went Webster because, in part, I know they will be around for a long time.

Gas + Smoker box full of mesquite chips > charcoal.

I'll still have the Charcoal grill. Sometimes the food doesn't need the charcoal flavor to taste good or you can use the Hickory Chips wrapped in Tinfoil to get the flavor you are looking for.

Since I live in an apartment without a patio (just a fire escape), I'm looking for a small charcoal grill to use during the summer in the garden area. Any recommendations?

I got the cheapest grill I could find that was propane ($79). It works well enough for me. I use it fairly regularly too. I have used the same propane tank since I got this back in Septemeber. I have been wondering if it is cheaper to cook on a gas grill than my electric stove.
